Don's Dialogue

Join us for our first Dons Dialogue (formerly Friday Forum) this Thursday, September 21, at 8:30am in the Collaboration Center! At our first meeting, Principal Bell will be doing a deep dive into all things new at Acalanes.

Along with 2017-18 school goals, topics at this meeting include:
  • understanding Academy and the new Block Schedule – bring your questions!
  • hearing about our new amazing hires
  • previewing the upcoming Freshman Seminars
  • hearing from our Leadership Advisor Katherine Walton and ASB team
  • Open Q&A
Enjoy a cup of coffee and bagels, and meet Principal Bell and other Acalanes parents, while learning what’s important on campus at the moment. We hope to see many of you there! Reserved parking for parents will be in the small parking lot to the right of the driveway at the school entrance.

Color Run

Sunday, September 24, 8 am
Be a part of the 2nd Annual Acalanes Color Run! Our family friendly 1.5 mile course takes you through the Acalanes campus and grounds. This is not a timed event so feel free to skip, walk, or jog, just don't miss out! When life gives you color you run with it! Benefiting the classes of 2019 and 2020. Sign up now on the webstore.

Acalanes Parents Club is under its funding goal! Issues with the district's online registration system lead to an unusually low number of APC donations. As the vast majority of our fundraising is linked to Dons Day registration, we are making an unusual plea. We have heard from parents who intended to give, that missed it at registration. If you are unsure whether you gave to APC, check your webstore receipt online or your printout. You can also look for your name on the Donor List.  The recommended contribution is $200 per student.  All donors who give $75 or more will receive a copy of the Student Directory/Parent Handbook at Back to School Night.  Donate now via the webstore.

Of course, a HUGE thank you to all who have donated - Acalanes is what it is because of our parent funded programs & initiatives.

Matching Donations

Corporate Matching of your Parents Club donation is an important part of our budget and a no cost way to support our students. Please continue to check in with your employers and take advantage of your company benefits. Thank you to all the Corporations for their support.

Intervention Specialists Available

Gieve Amel and Alison Gans, our trained crisis counselors, are available to meet with students struggling with social, emotional or personal issues in order to get help and learn coping skills. Students can sign up to see them in the Counseling Office or by referral from their counselors.  We are fortunate that the Acalanes Parents Club (APC) fully funds this shared position at our site.
