APC Staff Appreciation

The staff appreciation team will be hosting the annual cookie exchange on Wednesday December 19th from 8:15 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. We are still in need of volunteers to donate home-baked goods, cookies, brownies, fudge, cupcakes, bark etc including some gluten free options and some fresh fruit too. Community Service Awards Information

Acalanes provides two opportunities to recognize students for their service to our community and others. The awards include:
Acalanes Volunteer Service Award This award is given to all students who perform the required number of community hours. (See application for details.)
President’s Volunteer Service Award This is a highly coveted award that recognizes the contributions of students who have demonstrated outstanding volunteer service and civic participation over the course of a 12 month period. Recognition starts at 50 hours for students under 16 years of age and 100 hours for students 16 years old and over. 
Service Award Applications To earn either award, students need to fill out a Service Award Application and Verification Form for each service activity. Students need to use the 2018-2019 Verification Forms and collect needed signatures for completed work. For more details, check out the Volunteer Service Award Information Sheet.  

The annual Service Award Ceremony will be held at the end of the school year. Please turn in completed forms to the Counseling Office the week of April 8 -12, 2019.

APC Fall Grants Announcement

Acalanes Parents Club was pleased to approve $10,000 in grants during the Fall grant submission period. Thanks to your support, APC is able to deliver exciting, innovative grants! There will be a Spring Grants program as well. See the Grants page for the list of grants. 

New Dons Spirit Wear

Presales of the latest addition to the Dons Spirit Wear Collection will be on-campus this week. Spirit wear designed by the Sophomore class as a fundraiser will be sold at break and at lunch in both the front and back quads. Orders may also be placed through the Acalanes Webstore during the holiday break.  Hoodies ($40), long sleeve tees ($20) and short sleeve tees ($15) will be available for pre-order with items arriving after the holiday break.  Parents: these make great gifts for existing Dons, incoming students and Dons parents!

eScrip Supports Acalanes Parents Club
eScrip is an important fundraising source supporting our school. When you sign up for sScrip and shop at local grocery stores and restaurants, they donate a portion of your purchase to APC. If you are new to eScrip, you can now sign up by text with your phone. If you are already signed up for eScrip, log in and check to see that you are signed up for all of the stores where you shop. Peer Tutoring

Peer Tutoring is a great campus resource, supported entirely by Acalanes Parents Club, for students to take advantage of to get academic help from trained peer tutors or a quiet space to get homework done. If your student drops by once, they’re likely to take advantage of it going forward. You can’t beat free tutoring (and yummy snacks)!

All APC Donors: if you weren’t able to pick up your copy at Back to School Night, please visit the Registrar's Desk in the Counseling Office to pick one up. All parents that donate to APC become members and qualify to receive an APC Directory. More information

Acalanes Parents Club thanks our donors who enable us to advocate for academic excellence and enrich the educational experience for our students by funding vital services; Peer Tutoring, academic clubs, staff development, grant programs, health and wellness, support counselors, parent education and much more.  See more information about the Annual Funding Campaign.

The recommended contribution is $300 per student, but you can contribute any amount. All donors will become Acalanes Parents Club members and will receive a copy of the Student Directory/Parent Handbook at Back to School Night. Donate now via the webstore, or you can donate to APC while you are doing your on-line school registration.

Of course, a HUGE thank you to all who have donated - Acalanes is what it is because of our parent funded programs & initiatives. 

Matching Donations

Corporate Matching of your Parents Club donation is an important part of our budget and a no cost way to support our students. Please continue to check in with your employers and take advantage of your company benefits. Thank you to all the Corporations for their support.

Shopping or Dining Locally

Use eScrip partners to help raise dollars for Acalanes students by dining at Local Restaurant Partners or shopping at Diablo Foods or Lunardi’s. Register or Update your eScrip membership, it does make a difference.
